Basic Vs Luxe

 

Both Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket BASIC and Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket LUXE use Deep Touch Pressure Therapy and have the same overall benefits on health. Both are proudly designed in Ireland & Ethically manufactured in Europe.

Their main differences are: 

 

        • Shoulder embrace: The Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket Luxe has a shoulder embrace specific to relieve neck and shoulder tension. Thanks to this feature, when you turn to the side, Kocoono Luxe turns with you and cocoons you all over. The Weighted Blanket Basic does not have this feature.

        • Customisable : Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket Luxe is weighed adjustable: it has 10 removable inner weighted bands. You can remove some of the inner weighted bands if you don't like pressure in certain areas. This is also ideal for children, as you can remove the inner weighted bands to suit their weight and add them when they grow.  The Weighted Blanket Basic is not customisable, but still has 3 weights available  (5, 7 and 9 Kg)

        • Ease of movement: The segmented inner weighted bands means  that Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket Luxe is versatile and creates ease of movement  as opposed to the Basic which is one large inner weighted blanket with an outer cover assembled by 12 ties. The LUXE version is more versatile as the inner weights are segmented and it moves with you with more ease. 
        • Cooling effect: In the Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket Luxe you can place some of the inner weighted bands in the freezer and reinsert into the blanket having a cooling effect. The Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket Basic does not have this feature.

 

Should I buy the Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket Basic or the Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket Luxe?

The selection depends on your own needs and preferences. As we explained above you will enjoy the overall health benefits of the Deep Touch Pressure Therapy regardless of whether you choose the Basic or the Luxe model.

If you normally experience differences in your weight , you may prefer to have the customisable option (remember that the weight has to be around 10% of your weight). If you don't like pressure on certain areas, or you just want to apply pressure on your legs but not on the upper part of your body, you might prefer the customisable option, as you can remove the inner weighted bands to suit your needs.

If you are a hot sleeper or suffer from hot flushes at night, the Kocoono Weighted Blanket LUXE will offer you a cooling effect. 

If you suffer from shoulder and neck tension, the Luxe version has the shoulder embrace that will help you  alleviate this tension. Although, remember that we have the Kocoono™ Shoulder Hug that can also solve this need.

 

Children 

The Kocoono™ weighted Blanket LUXE is suitable for children aged 5 and over as it  is customisable. We recommend starting with the 5kg Kocoono Weighted blanket LUXE (the lightest weight) and removing the required inner weighted bands to suit the 10% of the child's body weight. The inner weighted bands can be re-inserted as the child grows. If you choose to go for the Children's blankets in the Kocoono basic version you can choose between the 3kg for children that weight approx 30kg or the 4kg for children that weigh approx 40kg.

Improved the whole households sleep!

My 10 year old sons sleeping habits and by extension ours was transformed by this blanket. His frequent nighttime wakings even when exhausted was disturbing him and the rest of the family. From the first night he slept better, telling me in the morning “I still woke up a few times but was able to go back to sleep”. Normally he would wake up and be fully alert and couldn’t settle himself. This blanket has been brought this on holidays with us and is still so soft and comfortable after washing. We wouldn’t be without it, I already bought another one to be sure.

The Childrens Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket BASIC is a specially crafted blanket designed to provide comfort and relaxation for your little ones. Tailored with care, this weighted blanket offers gentle, even pressure across the body, promoting a sense of security and calmness. Ideal for bedtime or moments of rest.

The pressure of Childrens Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket BASIC can be a great sensory input, and it helps children with sensory processing disorders to develop body awareness. The fabric of the Weighted Blanket is also an important source of sensory input. We find that the Velvet fabric of the Kocoono ™ Weighted Blanket LUXE is very comforting for children, and they find the fabric very soft and shooting to touch.

The concept of Kocoono Weighted Blankets is based on deep pressure stimulation, similar to a hug, a massage or the feeling of being cocooned. Kocoono Weighted Blankets can help to relax a child's body and reduce fidgeting (as the weight encourages stillness). We cannot give any guarantees as every child is different, but we have several customers who have bought Kocoono for their children and they have given us great feedback. Some feedback is based on how their children felt hugged and safe at night with their Kocoono.

  • If your child is very small, we have recently launched the Childrens Kocoono Weighted Blanket in the basic version. It is 90cm x 120cm in dimension and weighs 3kg or 4kg. There is a detachable removable cover which you can tie to the inner weighted blanket with the attached ties - making it easy for washing!

  • The Kocoono™ Weighted blanket LUXE is suitable for children aged 4 and over.  When it comes to our little ones our Kocoono™ blanket is customisable. We recommend starting with the 5kg Kocoono weighted blanket LUXE (as this is our lightest weight) and removing the required amount of weights to suit your child.

  • The Kocoono™ Weighted blanket LUXE has 11 channels of weighted panels, that can be removed and re-inserted as your child grows. So your child will be able to grow with their Kocoono™ LUXE blanket and you can add weights as they grow. This is more environmentally and cost friendly than needing to purchase a new blanket at each growth spurt.

The Kocoono Weighted Blanket for children is designed to be used in addition to a child's duvet, not as a replacement. It provides a comforting and soothing effect with its gentle, even pressure, promoting relaxation and a sense of security. It complements the bedding, offering an extra layer of comfort for a a restful night's sleep. So, while it adds to the cozy atmosphere, it doesn't replace the functionality of a traditional duvet. We have many customers in Ireland and the UK who would use both all year round.

The way you use it for your child is a matter of preference, and all of our customers use it differently. You will find which works best for you and your own personal preference. Some people prefer to use just their Kocoono others use it on top of or underneath the duvet.


We recommend using a sheet between yourself and your Kocoono just to prevent washing. 

The removable cover :

The Childrens Kocoono Weighted Blanket BASIC has two fabrics to choose from

1. Super soft Minky on the outer side + 100% breathable cotton on the bottom side or

2. Luxury textured Velvet on the outer side + 100% cotton on the bottom side.

The Inner Blanket

- Basic Weight Distribution: It has one inner blanket tied to the outer cover with 12 loops.

- Weighted with glass beads that mould to your body and apply weight to the pressure points across your body to help keep you cool and calm.

- Includes polyfill which ensures you feel nice and snug and adds to the cosiness. 

- We also use silicone balls to 'plump' these up to create a cosy feeling.

Note: Colours may vary from images shown. We can have fluctuation in colour shades based on the dye used in the fabric.

It is recommended that you remove the inner weighted bands (for the Kocoono LUXE) before washing.
Once removed you can place the outer Kocoono™ blanket in the washing machine at 30 degrees Celsius.

Please air dry your Kocoono™ blanket.

For the Kocoono Basic blanket, untie the outer cover from the inner blanket by disassembling the 12 ties, place the outer cover in the washing machine at 30 degrees. Air dry.

For a 2 year old it is best to get either the Kocoono Weighted Lap Blanket or the Kocoono Weighted Children's Blanket BASIC in 3kg (there are several patterns to choose from here).

When you get the Kocoono blanket make sure you try it on your child during the day to get them used to it and make sure they can get out of it comfortably. Children tend to fidget a lot, so the Kocoono blanket will help to regulate and calm their nervous system and hopefully help them to fall asleep more easily.

Please do not return the product to our Warehouse address that is on the original box. We are not responsible for the returns sent to the Warehouse without previous request and authorisation." 

100-Day Return Policy for  Kocoono™ Blankets and Shoulder Hugs. To be eligible for a return, your item must in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. We want all our customers to be happy with there purchase of their Kocoono and we are confident you will love your Kocoono in the event that you wish to return or exchange your Kocoono as soon as possible. We can arrange a Swap-it if you wish to change the weight of your Kocoono.

Please keep the original packaging for at least 100 days after purchase.

We want our customers to love their experience with  Kocoono™ products. If in the first month you conclude your purchase is not a good fit or that you would prefer a different product instead, we welcome you to request a return authorisation by emailing info@kocoono.com. Once the below information has been received, we can then approve your return and provide you with the return address.

Be advised that returns must be submitted within 100 days of delivery, the return item must be undamaged (new condition), and customers are responsible for all return shipping charges and packaging.

Image of product in original packaging 


The image of the product in its original packaging is a non-negotiable. We need the requested image for a multitude of reasons, but a big reason is to protect customers from any financial liability in the case that damage occurs during transit. The image of the blanket in the packaging proves the condition of the product prior to shipment.

If you believe that your product has arrived with damage or defect, please contact customer service within 100 days to return items of poor quality for a refund/exchange. Please include a description and photo verification of the damage in your email.
We currently do not have a warranty on Kocoono™ outside of the return policy window, but check out our FAQ's with information on how to best use and upkeep your Kocoono™ items.

Your refund will be issued within 14 days of the items being returned (Note: we do not offer a refund on the shipping fee for return items)


Return policy for Kocoono™ Eye Masks and Kocoono Weighted Eye Pillows.

The Kocoono™ Eye masks and Kocoono™ Weighted Eye Pillows are non-refundable and non-returnable once they have been shipped out. The reason being, they are handwash only and it is not something that can be returned due to hygiene reasons. Our company has the right to refuse returns that are not within our guidelines.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make sure that they enter their shipping and order information correctly before submitting it - we typically cannot cancel your order.
But do know that we will try to help you accordingly so send an email to info@kocoono.com if you have further questions.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. 

Your refund will be issued within 14 days of the items being returned.

** If you tried our swapit service and wish to return your Kocoono at a later stage, the costs for the shipment of the swapit and original shipment cost will be deducted from the refund amount.

If you are approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original payment method within a certain amount of days.

Your Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket should weigh approx 10% of your body weight. However, because everyone is different, you may need a lighter/heavier weight. If this is the case, we can arrange an exchange within the first 30 days. Just send us an email at info@kocoono.com. Please, bear in mind that it can take the body a few weeks to get used to the weight of a Kocoono™ Weighted Blanket.
